Archive for the year "2012"

Shot outside of Kandy just after the sun had set. Camera flash lights up the back of the two men and a long exposure takes care of the sky.
The sunsets in these parts have been nothing short of extraordinary. However, this is about the time it is supposed to keep raining. It hasn't for the last 7 months or so. Clouds come and go, and now they've even stopped being tantalizing. There simply is no rain, only great sunsets.

Drifting Clouds

Drifting Clouds

It is said that in time past, when it was still unreal, the sky was always blue and the grass always green. An incomplete magician once plucked a monkey's hair while wanting to craft a figurine off the sky and burnt the entire grass. In anger, an old sage from the strata of mystic, disfigured the sky, with clouds. The magician learnt his lesson the hard way, for he now can only see the invisible.

Of course, don't hold me to this story.

In the unreal

Got an IR filter (rated 850 nm) which is quite useful for black and white infrared photography (not so much to get false colours). It cost next to nothing and the initial tests reveal it is excellent.
Shot with a Canon 60D and a Canon 50mm f1.8. This lens works really well with IR unlike the Tamron 17-50 which would show up a hotspot as big as the aperture.
PS: This building is easily the most photographed one by me.
